Jagadguru Swami Shri Purushottamacharya Ji Maharaj of Shri Siddhadata Ashram planted saplings today on the occasion of World Environment Day and inspired his disciples to do the same. In these, plants of shade giving trees like Pilkhan and fruit bearing trees like lemon, orange were included.

On this occasion, he said that trees are not only the ornaments of our land, but they are also life givers for us. We get life force from them. Many types of fruits and juices are obtained from them, from which medicines are also made. The wood obtained from them is of many use to us. Swami Purushottamacharya said that trees are useful from our birth till our last journey, so if there is a decrease in their number then the balance will deteriorate. That's why we all must plant at least 10 plants in our life and nurture them till they grow up.

Swamiji said that considering the usefulness of trees, they have been given the place of deities in our Sanatan Dharma. There are many plants and trees that we worship and there are many trees that even thinking about cutting them is considered a sin. The reason is clear that our sages knew their importance and they had made many religious rules for their protection, but today's man is so engrossed in materialism that forgetting everything, he is only engaged in serving his own interests, for which he is paying the price. He also inspired a large number of disciples and devotees present on the occasion to plant saplings.
