Faridabad (10th November, 2013): The cow is a sacred identity of the Indian culture since time immemorial. Anant Shri Vibhushit Indraprastha Peethadeeshwar Shrimad Jagad Guru Ramanujacharya Swami Shri Purshottamacharyaji Maharaj said that the establishment for the protection of cows is the true preservation of the Indian culture. Pujya Gurudev was addressing this sacred sentiment to all the devotees present on the occasion of Gopa Ashtami on Sunday at the Narayan Vatika Gaushala in the Shri Sidhdata Ashram during the sacramental cow worshiping ceremony. Guru Maharaj Ji expressed that it has been proven through scientific trials that the cow’s ghee and urine have become evident to be an elixir in several incurable diseases. He highlighted the economic, social and scientific significance of cows. Guruji further went on to enlighten all the gathered venerators saying that the Cow is not only an extremely useful creature for the milk it produces but also for the growth of the Indian economy. The cows have been given the status of “MOTHER” and “EARTH” in the Indian Vedic Scriptures. Prior to this, Pujya Gurudev worshipped the Cows with complete reverence and immense devotion offering green fodder to the hundreds of cows in the Ashram. On this occasion, a free medical camp was also organized in the Holy Abode of Shri Sidhadata Ashram, in which specialists treated around 512 patients for various diseases.
