On this occasion, Shri Guru Maharaj told that the festival of Makar Sankranti is celebrated to welcome the Sun God entering Capricorn. Uttarayan also begins from this day. Which is called the day of the gods. Shri Guru Maharaj told that chanting, penance, bathing etc. have special significance to please the Sun God on this day. On this day, donations made after bath etc. get special grace.
