Upakarma in Swami Sudarshanacharya Veda Vedanga Sanskrit Mahavidyalaya

Upakarma was done in Swami Sudarshanacharya Veda Vedanga Sanskrit Mahavidyalaya. On this occasion, all the students were offered Kshor and a Havan was performed. It is also called the day of starting upakarma or doing virtue. From ancient times, recitation of Vedas was started in Gurukuls only after Upakarma and now only after this a new academic session is started. Upakarma is a resolution day in which a pledge is taken to avoid the pathogens, upapatakas and Mahapatakas, not to abduct the material, not to criticize, to take care of diet, not to do violence, to control the senses and to conduct good conduct.

On this occasion, Chairman of the college Anantashree Vibhushit Indraprastha and Haryana Peethadheeshwar Shrimad Jagadguru Ramanujacharya Swami Shri Purushottamacharya Ji Maharaj told the students to set high standards of morality in life with teaching material, offerings and blessings. It is worth mentioning that in the Swami Sudarshanacharya Sanskrit Veda Vedang Mahavidyalaya located in the premises of Shri Siddhadata Ashram, education is provided free of cost up to seven years Veda subject and general Acharya.
