Myriads of devotees gathered at the ashram to participate in the Birthday celebrations of the Peethadeeshwar Shrimad Jagadguru Swami Purshottamacharya Ji Maharaj. Speaking on this occasion Shri Guru Maharaj expressed that; ‘I call upon all human beings who have been bestowed with the most beautiful body on this planet, if you determine your tomorrow’s target today i.e. on the first day of the New Year, then you won’t face any obstacles in future’. He was delivering the Satsang at the program organized on the New Year’s Day at Shri Sidhdata Ashram, Shri LakshmiNarayan Divyadham.  Thousands of followers gathered at the sacred abode of the ashram to wish Shri Guru Maharaj as the 1st of Jan also marks the auspicious occasion of His Birthday. On this sacred occasion Shri Guruji said that it is not bad to set targets in the material world; however, it is wrong to forget the spiritual purposes while being engulfed in the worldly things. He said that through bhakti, Hanuman Ji won over Lord Shri Ram. The chanting of the Lord’s Name carries real importance. Hanuman Ji chanted the Name of Lord Ram and this devotional chanting of the Lord’s Name proved much powerful than Lord Ram himself. He said that we must not waste this most precious human body that has been gifted to us and must always continue to keep the name and existence of God in our mind and heart and follow the path of truthfulness.

Shri Guru Maharaj said that Lord Narayan has been accepted as the PARA TATTVA (Supreme Truth). If you worship & follow him, all other things will automatically be obtained. Guru Maharaj also elucidated that human beings continue to remain stuck in passion, resentment, jealousy, condemnation and their whole life gets wasted without any spiritual attainment, which ultimately results in the non-achievement of the purpose of taking birth on earth. To attain the purpose of this life, participate in the chanting of the Divine Lord’s Name and kirtan. Through many instances, Guruji explained that human beings are the part of the Supreme God and to meet Him is truly the only and foremost purpose of the Individual.

On this occasion, Guru Maharaj also released the Annual Book of the Ashram i.e. Sudarshan Lok, New Year calendar and a Bhajan CD titled Guru Vandana. Swami Sudarshanacharya Sanskrit Ved Vedāng Mahavidyalaya also crowned him with the title of Paanch-Upadhiyo. The activities of the Ashram being conducted in the country and overseas were also explained in detail. In which the details about the various Gaddies and Temples being run in Dubai, Johannesburg and Durban in South Africa, Kano and Lagos cities in Nigeria, Spain, Honk-Kong, Karjat located at Pune-Mumbai Highway were also provided. Several devotees from these places also came for the celebrations at the Ashram. Besides, a summary about the welfare activities of the Ashram was also presented.

The birthday of Guru Maharaj falls on 1st January, and as a result there were myriads of devotees assembled here with immense enthusiasm and great zeal who showed their devotion through the singing of melodious bhajans. As there was a great rush of devotees, the program continued for the whole day.
